Here are the details....

I began making Plain Jane when my oldest daughter was about 5 years old. She has eczema and what's worse is she developed it on her eyelids. That is a tough place to heal and I certainly didn't want to apply her steroid cream there! I tried everything! Like so many others, I turned to the internet to find a more natural solution and came up with what I make now, Plain Jane, a Shea Butter based cream that you can apply all over your body. It goes without saying that you should test it out for allergic reaction, Shea Butter is derived from a nut so test if you have a NUT ALLERGY... This cream is made with Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, Frankincense Oil, and Myrrh Oil. The Shea Butter is raw and not heat processed imported from Ghana, Avocado Oil is food grade, Coconut Oil is an organic, virgin and food grade, Cocoa Butter is organic and food grade, and all of my essential oils are sourced from The Essential Oil Company- also family owned. Why are food grade ingredients important to me? Because if it's safe to eat, it's safe to put on my skin, that's my logic! I've been using Plain Jane for 15 years and it's all I've been putting on my face, twice daily. Although I have oily skin I don't feel overly oily and my skin has a healthy glow. I have been making this product for friends and family for years now and finally have some fire in my belly to make this product and share it with you!

I believe that we should be good stewards of this Earth, so I have kept that idea at the front of my mind with regards to ingredients,  packaging, shipping, etc. and I will continue to look for new or better ideas. I also strive to source American made products and ingredients. I am one woman show here and have not done any fancy testing and certainly would not do any bunny testing...we keep bunnies as pets and they are amazing (if you have bunnies then you KNOW). You are my test humans. Please let me know how you like the product. I am happy to refund the cost of my product if it doesn't work for you.

I have chosen a 3 oz. biodegradable Hemp jar made by hempak for our cream. This jar is made in the U.S.A. I chose the 3 oz. because I feel it's that "just right" size and once you have used your jar of cream your order also comes with an 8 oz. bag to refill it. Your jar is also ready for airline travel! You'll notice I printed the label on one side, I like to keep it plain and simple...there is a pattern here. So this refill bag! It has a zip lock seal, just scoop out more cream and put it into your jar. Your jar is also dishwasher safe.
Great right?! Getting back to the bag, it is food grade and reusable. Wash it out with soap and hot water, let dry and reuse for food.
It's pretty heavy duty so keep reusing it until it falls apart! When you run out, reorder the 8 oz. bag. So that's it folks. I was very thoughtful in my packaging choices all the way down to the recyclable shipping envelope. If ya'll have any great ideas reach out and email me at plainjaneskin@gmail.com. I'm so grateful for your orders and support, I strive to always be improving upon my self and my products and I welcome any comments and suggestions!

With a grateful heart,
Olivia Anderson
